2004-April-01:

Well, this would be a good April fools joke, but the South Mount Hawkins Tower has finished construction today.  At least the first architectural model of it.

To see the complete story of how Glen Boulier (in Canada) made this tower, click this link... The Building of a Supermodel Photograph Page.

2004-Mar-14:

Ric Opalka donated a Pacesaver Plus Electric Wheelchair, with the proceeds of the sale being donated to the Rebuild South Mount Hawkins Fund.  In the photograph, the new owner, takes the buggy out for a drive around the yard.

2004-Feb-07:

Getting ready for fundraising, Ric Opalka, Deb Kure, Nick Rini and Harry Heflin are having a good time while assembling the fundraising kits produced by Charles White for the members of the ANFFLA.  Ric is also preparing to staff a booth at the San Dimas Marketplace to help raise awareness of the tower and raise funds.  If you are interested in helping Ric staff the booth, please give him a call.

We plan to have a 10' x 10' tent, with three 2' x 6' tables.  Kermit has built a four panel backdrop and Charles is making photos for the display.  Also, we will have a new miniature model of the SMH tower that is presently being built for us by a model maker in Canada.  Should be a good presentation.

2004-Feb-07:

Mary Wagoner announces the plans for a bowling fundraisier for the SMH Tower.  Over a $1,000 was raised by Mary & Dick Wagoner.

"You should have seen the amazing orchestration in this, even their family helped out and they all kicked in one way or the other", Bob Moore

Good job and thank you to the Wagoner family!

2004-Feb-07:

Chuck McFate announced today that he has found a way for people to have Ralphs Grocery Stores donate to the SMH Fund, by simply giving your Ralphs Card Number to a special sign up.  This donation is directly from Ralphs and no money is charged to those that participate.  Contact Chuck for more information.

We will have a link here soon!

Proceeds from this fund raising effort will go to the SMH Fund, but after the campaign, funds will go directly to the ANFFLA.

2004-Feb-07:

Bob Moore awards Ric Opalka the second Red Shirt Lookout award for Ric's efforts in securing over $1,000 for the SMH Fund.  Actually, Ric was able to raise over $10,000 but he only gets one shirt.

The first Red Shirt Lookout award went to Charles White presented to him during a campaign meeting for Charles' efforts in putting in over a 100+ hours.

Here is a link to the Red Shirt Lookouts page.
