All documents require the Adobe Acrobat Reader, available for free from the Adobe Website.
Newsletters are published as needed, and articles are intended for our Fire Lookout associates. There is a "winter hibernation" period when no newsletters are published during the non-fire season.

| Pending | Event: Fire Season 2004 South Mount Hawkins Site Staffing
Saturday May 22, 2004 Brief: The SMH lookout tower that burned in the 2002 Curve Fire is gone, but the Forest Service has requested volunteers return to the summit site to keep a fire watch on the forest, even though no tower exists. Fire Lookouts have done this historic type of duty near the turn of the last century and will do it again until the SMH tower is rebuilt. Reporters will be escorted up the mountain to cover the event. See our 2004 Summit Duty photograph page. |
